i never had a deal with dl-lactic acid cas 50-21-5. is it a mixture 50% + 50% of d-lactic and l-lactic. does it mean if i apply it to a racemic base i will get both isomers in percipitate racemic lactate solids?

d,l or D,L ? Yes generally D,L- (R/S is preferred) is racemic +- 50/50 R and S. It depends on what base you are conjugating it with, some chemicals are strerically hindered from combining with one or the other. Methamphetamine, for instance, L-tartaric acid will not attach to D- Methamphetamine. Something I was made aware of fairly recently

what i have here in my hands is lactic acid cas 50-21-5

my only question indeed is if both l and d parts react with proper isomers simultaneously under the same conditions, and both d-lactate and l-lactate go to the precipitates at once.
