Can someone please tell me how 2-(2-chlorophenyl)acetyl chloride is made? Could I react phenylacetic acid with chlorine to get 2-chloroacetic acid and react that with phosgene or thionyl chloride to get the end product?Is there a better,easier method? preferably one that doesnt involve vacuum disstilation?
