Thanks! Good information! I do have a virtual mail address that cant be tied to my home address but I feel like without a whole new identity you can always be traced.

You can always be traced if they have enough motivation to do so.
Virtual mail needs to be setup properly - NO SMS/email traced to you for verification, never ever access it from a non-tor connection. If you have done so even once you may as well write it off. Remember, you are only as invisible as the amount of effort you put in.
