It's an easier method for amatuers, but the yield it's kinda good, problem is that, Hypophosphorous acid, or sodium hypophosphite it's not for sale to individuals, so to get hypophosphorous acid or Na HPP it's a pain in the ass
I think you got your temperatures wrong or mixed up with red p/I2 synthesis. Heating this reaction up to 160 deg would be dangerous. Heating above 110°C causes hypophosphorous acid to undergo disproportionation to give phosphorous acid and phosphine gas which can and will spontaneously ignite. Phosphine is extremely toxic. I don’t recommend heating this over 100 deg Celsius .

hi there, can you help me with something, im note sure about the rations by reaction of 3000g ephedrine via H3PO4 . Last time by reacting 1000g of ephedrin by temperature 130C for 8 hours i used 1500 g of iodine and 630 ml of H3PO4 and 600 ml H2O...ineed to be sure about the rations. Please can confirm or maybe give me som advice if im doing something not corect, thanx in advance

I have some questions for the comunity I am doing a cook that i have done years ago and I am at a step that im not sure exactly what the processes were im 99 percent that I have it correct but wanted to talk to this lovely bunch of law abiding citizens and see if there was some insite i could get. OK here it is I have done a crockpot cook with nitro mentane gas gun blue number 9 and welding rods putting the rods on the bottom of the crock pot and sealing the pot cook on high for 12 hours and off for 12 and the end result is a nice orange colored crystal that is bar non the best for such a quick and easy cook. the question I have is in the process with the fuel and the blueing is there a need for activated charchole in the process or not. There was also another way in which was a cold cook with a fish tank I observed that used the charchole I thing I got them a little meshed together considering its been 10 or so years since I have seen this process. If anyone could give me sone insite I would be grateful and so would the people observing the process.

Hey, first off H3PO4 is phosphoric acid - you must use hypo. I hope that was a typo and you already know this. 630mL of water is way too much - you only add a couple drops so it refluxes. For 1kg of ephedrine I'd probably use 50mL.
I do: 1 PSE/EPH : 2I²:1H3PO2, in that order too as I believe it's more stable. So PSE, a couple drops of H20, H3PO2 then add all the I² in one lot then quickly connect the condenser, duct taping around the joint to prevent leakage. I add the I² quickly because I want to connect the condenser before it reacts into the atmosphere, which affects the yield.
I reflux @ 250°C and have a 2L Coke bottle connected to the condenser via ~20cm of 10mm vinyl tubing. This acts as a pressure valve, the pressure needs to be burped out for the first 15 mins of the reaction until no more pressure builds up - which is when you screw it shut. Don't panic when the bottle sucks in, that's when you leave it alone to react. In the bottle I have about 375mL of H20 to help absorb any HI/phosphine gas, rather than having it smoke up the house.
Overall reflux time is 1 hr 45 mins for pseudoephedrine (PSE) & for ephedrine 3 hrs 30 mins. Any longer and you're wasting your time and red-lighting yourself.
There is a bit to take in so I've narrowed it down below
So, what you're doing wrong is:
• using phosphoric acid (H3PO4),
• not using enough iodine,
• and using way too much H2O.
Fix all that up and you should end up with good product.
If you can't be bothered making the Coke bottle pressure valve, keep the temperature at 150°C. You don't need this on the end of your condenser, but I do it every time.
ONE LAST THING! MUST READ!
NEVER let anything that's come into contact with pseudo/ephedrine touch the end product! This will revert your product back to PSE and you'll be wondering why it still tastes like pseudo when you smoke it. Use seperate funnels and jugs and stuff for pseudo and seperate funnels and jugs and stuff for meth.
I'm pretty sure that ***** all people don't know this as it's never mentioned in any recipe.
Anyway, all the best. Do it properly next time or you're just wasting your time & money. I hope this helps with the next lot, although I'm probably too late.
