there is a simple method:
Ephedra (dry and crushed raw, at least 100 g)
Toluene
Sodium hydroxideHCl gas
in a system toluene - alkaline solution, alkaloids are extracted at pH = 12, then the organic phase is separated and acidified with HCl gas.
